Volunteer

A woman with glasses, wearing a dark hoodie, kneels on grass outdoors with two German Shepherd dogs, one sitting beside her on a leash and the other sitting close by, both looking alert. Trees and a fence are in the background.

Your Strengths Can Change a Life

At AHAS, we believe that just like every pet deserves the right home, every volunteer has a unique role to play. Whether you're a dog-walker, grant writer, or someone who just really enjoys fixing fences—we want to match your skills with meaningful opportunities to help.

Ways You Can Help

Fostering

We’ll train you to create a stable, safe space for pets in transition. No experience required—just a big heart.

Events & Outreach

Lend a hand at local events or help raise awareness online.

Hands-On Help

Walk dogs, groom cats, review adoption applications, or even patrol fence lines for safety.

Behind the Scenes

If fundraising, writing grants, or calling around for pet food deals is your jam—we want you!

Your Talents

Have a special skill? We love when volunteers bring new ideas to the table—graphic design, carpentry, photography, organizing, etc.

Have a special skill? We'd love your help.

We are so appreciative of the talented, generous people that have donated to AHAS. For example, a local artist is donating her services to auction off a charcoal portrait of the highest bidder's pet. Feel like you have a skill that could benefit AHAS? We would love to talk to you. Contact us so we can work together to save more animals!
